Maize hybrids created by crossing different inbred lines showed significant improvements in grain yield and related traits compared to standard commercial checks. Some hybrids exhibited high standard heterosis for grain yield, indicating potential for developing high-yielding maize varieties. Certain crosses also displayed earliness in maturity compared to the standard checks. Overall, the study suggests that the hybrids have the potential to contribute to maize breeding programs and the development of improved maize varieties.
