Beef cattle farmers in Kediri Regency, Indonesia, benefit from both social and financial capital. The farmers have a strong culture of cooperation with their communities, which helps them in their livestock businesses. Through a joint venture system called gaduhan, farmers are able to access financial resources. The study found that farmers have medium levels of social capital and rely on the gaduhan system for financial support. This combination of social and financial capital is a key solution to economic challenges in rural areas, with an increase in social capital leading to higher financial capital for the farmers.
