Women in Tanzania at Risk of Losing Land Rights, Livelihoods.
Women in Tanzania face challenges in accessing land rights, as traditional practices often require them to rely on male relatives for land ownership. This can leave women vulnerable and decrease agricultural productivity. The study reviewed laws and policies related to land rights, interviewed individuals, and analyzed the situation. The findings show that while progress has been made in recognizing women's land rights, there are still gaps in the legal framework, particularly in rural areas where men have greater land rights than women. Strengthening women's land rights is crucial for promoting economic benefits and supporting livelihoods in Tanzania.
