African countries aim to increase trade among themselves by 2025. A study looked at how well they measure their trade integration. They found that Africa trades more with itself than with other continents. However, the region still has weak trade ties with the rest of the world. Africa has few trading partners and doesn't sell a wide variety of products. To better understand trade integration, using different indicators and methods is recommended.
