Heavy metals in meat and organs exceed safe levels in Egypt.
The study evaluated levels of heavy metals in cows meat and chicken organs from different regions in Damietta, Egypt. They used Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry to measure metals like Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd, and Co. Results showed that Zn was the highest in cows meat, chicken gizzards, and livers. Fe and Pb levels exceeded safe limits in some samples, while Zn, Cu, and Cd were within safe levels. Heat had an effect on metal concentrations.
