Bhutan's Sustainable Forest Management Paving the Way for Global Environmental Collaboration

Bhutan's environmental policies are evolving to align with sustainable development principles. Criticism has been raised about excessive regulations hindering the efficiency of the timber industry. Bhutan is implementing advanced systems to utilize forests at an appropriate level considering social and economic needs. The government is enhancing community forest programs to achieve Gross National Happiness and Sustainable Development Goals. Introducing a forest certification system tailored to sustainable forest management in Bhutan is deemed necessary. Collaboration with advanced forest management countries like Korea through international agreements is suggested for mutual benefit.
