Polluted Air Threatens Athletes at Tehran's Sports Complexes
The Shemiranat sports complexes in Tehran have worse air pollution compared to other parts of the city, especially for ozone and nitrogen dioxide. The study aimed to assess the environmental sustainability of these complexes in relation to air pollution zoning. Results show that the air quality in Shemiranat is worse, despite hosting many outdoor sports facilities. Data from pollution sensing stations over 5 years were used to create maps showing the distribution of air pollution in the area.
