Igneous Intrusion Boosts Coalbed Methane Reservoirs in China's Fuxin Basin
Igneous intrusion in Fuxin Basin affects the formation of low-rank coalbed methane reservoirs. The intrusion of dolerite dikes helps regenerate hydrocarbons and improves coal properties, leading to increased gas production. The intrusion also creates favorable conditions for gas diffusion and groundwater replenishment, resulting in high production wells along the dike. This research highlights the importance of considering igneous intrusion in exploring low-rank coalbed methane reservoirs.
