China integrates climate change into planning to combat global warming
Climate change is impacting our environment, with greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide playing a big role. Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) helps predict and guide the effects of planning on the environment. By including climate change factors in SEA, planners can better address climate change in policies. A new method was developed in China to assess strategic plans based on low-carbon goals. This helps evaluate how well plans support low-carbon development and can reduce the impact of climate change, promoting sustainability.
