Forest restoration in Vietnam shows success in biodiversity conservation and forest cover.
The study compared human-assisted and naturally restored forests in Cat Ba Biosphere Reserve, Vietnam to understand how to restore forests for biodiversity and cover. They measured trees and natural growth in different plots and found that the human-assisted restoration models had more trees and natural growth compared to the natural ones. The study suggests that the forest restoration models were successful, but more techniques are needed for stable growth, especially in the human-assisted restoration of post-clear-cut forests.
