Dairy farms emit over 85,000 tons of greenhouse gases annually, accelerating global warming and climate change.
The study aimed to calculate the environmental impact of a dairy sheep farm in Nigde province. Researchers used a method called Tier 1 to estimate how much greenhouse gases the farm produces, like carbon dioxide and methane. They found that the farm contributes 85535.2 units of carbon dioxide equivalent per year in greenhouse gases. These gases from the livestock sector are a significant cause of global warming, with the farm's emissions adding to this issue. The findings emphasize the importance of measuring these emissions to understand their effect on the environment and to work towards reducing them to protect against harmful consequences.
