Inequality in access to clean water declines globally, but disparities between regions remain a pressing concern.
The study looked at how fair access to clean water is across different countries. They used a special method called Theil Index to see if some groups have better access than others. The findings show that inequalities in access to clean water have decreased over time, but some regions still have more inequality than others. Countries in Central and South America and the Middle East have contributed to increasing inequalities, while countries in North America, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and Europe have helped reduce inequalities.
