Smaller model domain improves climate simulation accuracy in Northern China.
RIEMS2.0 model was tested to see how well it simulates long-term climate in Northern China. Two different model domains were compared using data from 1979 to 2007. Both domains showed similar results in overall climate patterns, but the smaller domain was better at simulating precipitation in summer and reducing temperature bias in winter. The differences in simulating monsoons were due to boundary forcings and helped improve the model's accuracy.
