Subsidized credit boosts farm output by 13% for small-scale farmers
Access to subsidized credit significantly improves the output and efficiency of small rice farms in Bangladesh. Farmers with credit access are 13% more efficient on average, and those with randomized access to credit see a 76% increase in efficiency. The cultivation of modern Hybrid rice variety is also higher for farmers with credit access. Overall, providing credit to small-scale farmers can enhance agricultural development in rural economies.
