The East Asian Studies major and minor aim to help students understand the history and culture of East Asia, focusing on China and Japan. The program uses a mix of history, language, and interdisciplinary approaches to explore the region's diverse traditions while also highlighting common themes. Students are encouraged to study abroad in an East Asian country as part of the curriculum. The program is taught by eight faculty members from different departments, providing a well-rounded perspective on East Asian Studies.
