Western China's Urban Inequality Exposed: Impact on Regional Development
Urbanization in Western China has increased significantly over the past 60 years, with a focus on the period since 1978. The study used GIS and statistical analyses to examine urbanization patterns and inequalities in the region. Key findings include: disparities between eastern and western China are becoming more apparent, but progress has been slow since 2000; urbanization in western China is influenced by factors like population, government investment, and geography; and urbanization patterns vary greatly between provinces in the region.
