The study analyzed sediment samples from the Chengdao sea area to understand the sediment characteristics and transport patterns. The sediments were mainly sandy silt and poorly sorted. Sediment transport varied with water depth, with sediments moving shoreward in deeper waters during winter and offshore in shallower waters during summer. Seasonal transport was the main factor influencing sediment movement in the area.
