A new type of super rice called Guiliangyou 2 was created to help farmers in Guangxi produce more food. By crossing two different rice plants, the researchers made a variety that grows well in both early and late seasons. Guiliangyou 2 has strong traits like high yield and adaptability. In tests, it produced more rice than the control variety Teyou 63. In one test, it even yielded over 11,000 kg/ha in some fields. This new rice is a good choice for farmers in southern Guangxi for both early and late rice, and in other parts of Guangxi for early or middle-season rice.
