European Union Faces Fiscal Sustainability Challenges, Romania Urged to Act
The article discusses how different European countries approach fiscal sustainability, with a focus on Romania. By analyzing data from 2015-2018, the study looks at trends and projections until 2031 to assess long-term fiscal sustainability. The goal is to provide policy directions for institutional reforms to ensure fiscal responsibility at the national level, especially for Romania. The findings show that various fiscal policy reforms have been implemented in EU countries to promote fiscal sustainability, with each country facing unique challenges based on factors like economic development, aging population costs, and healthcare systems.
