Industrial effluents polluting River Challawa with high levels of heavy metals.
The researchers studied the impact of industrial waste on the water quality of River Challawa in Nigeria. They analyzed the levels of heavy metals like Cd, Cr, Pb, and Zn in the water, as well as other physical and chemical properties. The results showed that most parameters were within safe limits for drinking water, but high levels of Pb, Cr, and Cd indicated pollution from industrial sources. The study suggests that stricter waste management practices are needed to prevent further pollution in the area.
