The study looked at how different types of land cover in a karst area in Wushan County, Chongqing, are related to rocky desertification. They found that woodlands and grasslands make up most of the land, with farmland also present. The severity of rocky desertification varies, with intense rocky desertification being the most common. Different types of land cover are associated with different levels of rocky desertification. For example, woodlands are more likely to have intense rocky desertification, while grasslands are more likely to have moderate rocky desertification. The occurrence of rocky desertification is influenced by the type of land cover present.
