Serious Microbiological Pollution Found in Rural Drinking Water in Malipo County
The study analyzed the quality of drinking water in rural areas of Malipo County. Water samples from 29 rural drinking water sources were tested, with results showing that only 8.62% of the samples met quality standards. Microbiological pollution was found to be a significant issue, especially total coliforms. The study also revealed that water quality was better during low-flow periods compared to wet seasons. Overall, the findings suggest that rural drinking water protection in the county is inadequate, highlighting the need for improved supervision and management to ensure safe drinking water for residents.
