The article explores knowledge mapping to improve communication and practices in organizations. It reviews research from 2000 to 2013, finding a lack of understanding in the field. The study identified 132 articles on knowledge maps, showing a growing interest in the topic. While some disciplines have many studies, others, like knowledge map adoption, are lacking. The results suggest that knowledge maps are crucial for organizational effectiveness and call for more research in this area.
