The analysis of 103 hybrid rice varieties in Guizhou from 2004 to 2008 showed that rice quality breeding has improved. Most varieties met standards for hulled rice rate, amylase content, gel consistency, and chalkiness degree. However, head rice and chalkiness rice rates need more attention in breeding.
