The Yellow River Delta is changing due to sediment deposition and erosion, affecting its wetland function. A model was created using environmental fluid dynamics to study sediment transport in the delta. The model accurately predicted sediment deposition and the movement of the river mouth, showing it moves forward into the sea by 2.5 km per year. This study provides insights into how sediment affects the delta's morphology and can help predict its future shape and size.
