Biochar's Transformative Potential: Revolutionizing Composting and Soil Remediation
The study looked at different types of biochar to see how they can improve composting. Wood biochar had the highest water repellency and sorption abilities compared to rice husk biochar and rice husk ash. Wood biochar also had more humification materials, which help break down organic matter, than bamboo biochar. These findings suggest that wood biochar could be a useful amendment in composting to enhance the process and improve the quality of the final compost product.
