Industry experience drives higher wages than job seniority for Italian workers.
The study looked at how experience in a specific industry affects wages. They used a model to analyze data from young workers in Italy between 1986-2004. The results showed that having more experience in an industry leads to higher wages compared to just being in a job for a long time. The idea that how long you've been in a job or industry doesn't affect your wage was proven wrong. Workers who earn more tend to stay in their jobs and industries longer.
