Fertilizer breakthrough boosts maize and wheat yields while saving costs!
A study in Himachal Pradesh found that using farmyard manure on maize and wheat crops can increase grain yield. Applying 10 tonnes/ha of manure in each season gave the best results. The crops responded well to different levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers. By adjusting the fertilizer levels, it's possible to save 25% of NPK without reducing grain yield under rainfed conditions.
