The type of collective bargaining system used by firms affects their productivity. Coordinated sector collective bargaining systems perform better than other types of bargaining. This study analyzed different bargaining structures and processes in European Union countries to understand their impact on labor productivity. The findings suggest that policies aiming to reform collective bargaining in Europe should consider the benefits of coordinated sector bargaining systems.
