Corruption fuels poverty in ASEAN countries, study finds.
The study looked at the link between corruption and poverty in 9 ASEAN countries from 2005 to 2009. They used a method called GMM/DPD to analyze the data. The main finding was that corruption leads to poverty, but poverty does not lead to corruption. In simple terms, corruption causes poverty in these countries.
