Publicly funded health care leads to more efficient national health systems.
This study looks at how efficient different countries' healthcare systems are. They used a method called stochastic frontier analysis to figure out how well each system is working. The results show that countries with higher income inequality tend to have less efficient healthcare systems. Also, when more money for healthcare comes from public sources or out-of-pocket payments rather than private insurance, the systems tend to be more efficient.
