By studying the plants and insects in the orchard, researchers found that when there were more types of plants, there were also more types of insects. The diversity of plants and insects peaked in May to June. Changes in plant diversity caused big changes in insect diversity, showing that the plants in the orchard have a big impact on the insects that live there.
