Boosting nitrogen levels helps fescue grass thrive in scorching heat
The study looked at how adding nitrogen to two types of grass can help them grow better in hot weather. They found that the grass grew slower when it was hot, but adding nitrogen helped it grow faster. The grass also had more green pigment, made more food, and used water better with nitrogen. One type of grass, Barlexas, grew better with nitrogen, while the other type, Crossfire II, had better photosynthesis with nitrogen. Overall, adding nitrogen helped both types of grass deal with the heat better.
