The article discusses how Egypt's currency diversification and export competitiveness were affected by oil exports and financial changes after 1976. The study shows that the official devaluation in 1979 didn't help against the "Egyptian Disease," and the 1981 devaluation is unlikely to work either. Instead, a crawling peg policy is suggested based on the model's results.
