The study looked at how well a model (MM4) can predict the weather in the Qinghai Xizang Plateau. By comparing different ways of feeding the model starting and border data, the researchers found that using real data gave more accurate results than using simulated data. The model could capture the main features of the local climate, but mistakes in the simulated data could affect how well the model predicts. Ultimately, starting with more accurate initial information led to better simulations of the regional climate over the Plateau.
