The University of Tennessee created a tool called the SEDP Product Development Guide to help engineering students learn better product development processes. This guide uses the latest strategies from top industry teams to ask important questions during the design process. It doesn't make decisions for the user but provides structure and guidance. The guide is meant to assist students in creating products that meet customer needs. A prototype of the guide has been tested in the Engineering Design Center at the University.
