New soybean variety boosts yields and quality, revolutionizing intercropping in Guangxi.
A new soybean variety called Guichundou 104 was bred to be resistant to diseases, adaptable to different conditions, and produce high-quality grains. It was created by crossing two parent plants and tested in trials over several years. Guichundou 104 matures early, yields a lot, and has good quality grains. It is also resistant to diseases and drought, making it suitable for intercropping. In trials, it yielded higher than the control variety and had high protein and fat content. This new variety was officially registered in 2012 and is recommended for planting in spring in Guangxi for intercropping.
