The size of sediment in the Yellow River affects how much sediment builds up in the riverbed. Bigger sediment grains lead to more sedimentation in the river. This means focusing on controlling sediment sizes of 0.05mm or 0.10mm can have the most impact on reducing sedimentation in the lower Yellow River.
