This research looked at how energy is being used in Indian factories and ways to improve efficiency. They used a method called Divisia index decomposition to see which industries were getting more energy-efficient. Their findings show that some areas have improved in using energy better, but there are still chances to save more energy in different industries. The study revealed that most of the changes in energy use were due to using energy more efficiently, not because of structural changes. This means there is still potential to save energy in the manufacturing sector in India.
