Latino-owned businesses face survival odds based on key factors.
Latino-owned businesses in the United States were studied to see what factors affect their survival. Data from 127,000 firms were analyzed, looking at things like owner education, type of business, and location. The study found that Latina-owned, Puerto Rican-owned, and businesses selling to the federal government had lower odds of survival. However, starting a business with personal savings increased the chances of survival by 4 percent. This research can help improve regional economies by supporting Latino-owned businesses.
