The article examines regional inequalities in Turkey by defining NUTS regions to align with EU standards. By analyzing spatial data, the study identifies disparities between regions and assesses the impact of spatial dependence on these inequalities. The goal is to provide additional insights for comparing different regional classifications and evaluating Turkey's adjustment process related to regional issues. Key findings include the significance of addressing regional disparities in the context of EU enlargement and the importance of creating comparable statistical data for effective regional policies.
