Planting density affects photosynthesis and grain yield in high-yield winter wheat. A study compared different planting densities for a small spike type wheat variety. The treatment with 150,000 seedlings per hectare had better photosynthesis, chlorophyll content, and grain yield. This suggests that controlling seedling numbers and optimizing population size can increase wheat production.
