In the study about economic development and energy use in Jilin Province, China, researchers found that the economy and energy consumption there are closely connected. They used different methods to show that changes in the industry can affect energy efficiency. The study reveals that improving energy efficiency in industries can save energy, but changes in the industrial structure might use more energy. By adjusting the industrial structure to include more service and low-energy sectors, and improving energy efficiency, Jilin Province could better balance economic growth and energy consumption. This means shifting towards more service-based industries and lower-energy-consuming sectors could help save energy in the province.
