Preserving Korean Traditional Urban Morphology Vital for Sustainable Development.
The article examines the traditional urban layout of Korean cities from different time periods to understand their characteristics. The study focuses on three urban centers in Seoul, each representing a different era. Despite the differences in development, all three centers share common features in their street networks and block layouts. However, these historical urban forms are not being used in current urban planning practices. This highlights the need to update urban regulations to preserve the identity of Korean cities and promote sustainable development.
