Optimizing nitrogen application boosts rice yield and efficiency significantly.
The researchers studied how different ways of applying nitrogen fertilizer to rice crops affect their growth and yield. They tested three different ratios of nitrogen application at different stages of growth. The results showed that using more nitrogen at the right time led to higher nitrogen accumulation, better transportation to the grains, and increased dry matter accumulation in the rice plants. This resulted in higher grain yields and better nitrogen utilization efficiency. The best ratio produced the highest grain yield and the most efficient use of nitrogen. Interestingly, the nitrogen application strategy did not have a significant impact on the second crop of rice grown after the first one.
