Gender equality boosts ecological efficiency, but women in labor force hinder it.
The study looked at how gender equality affects the ecological efficiency of nations by measuring the carbon intensity of well-being (CIWB). They found that having more women in parliament and higher education for women reduces CIWB, while more women in the labor force increases it. The impact of gender equality on CIWB varies between developed and less developed nations. Additionally, having more women in parliament and educated women can lessen the negative effect of women's labor force participation on CIWB.
