Revolutionizing Agricultural Extension Services to Combat Climate Change in Ghana
Agricultural extension agents in northeastern Ghana need better training and resources to help farmers adapt to climate change. They mainly get climate information from radios and TVs. Agents need more technical skills, better communication abilities, and knowledge of climate-smart farming methods. They also require training in using technology to give advice on climate change. Challenges include lack of transportation, materials, and funds, as well as resistance to change from farmers. Workshops on using technology and audio-visual aids should be held regularly for agents.
