Revolutionary Rice Cultivation Technique Boosts Yield and Efficiency by 31%
The study aimed to find a way to increase rice yield and nitrogen use efficiency. Different cultivation techniques were tested on mid-season japonica rice. The high-yielding and high N use efficiency cultivation method significantly increased root and shoot growth, leaf photosynthesis, and carbon remobilization, leading to a 31% increase in grain yield and a 57% increase in nitrogen use efficiency compared to the control method. This suggests that optimizing cultivation techniques can improve rice growth and yield while using nitrogen more efficiently.
