Price reveal auctions on the Internet are Dutch auctions where the item's price is hidden. Bidders can see the price by paying a fee, which then decreases the price. The study found that, despite predictions, rational bidders should not participate in these auctions. However, data shows that bidders do enter these auctions, and they are profitable for the seller.
