Optimizing maize planting density and fertilization boosts crop yield significantly.
The researchers studied how different amounts of fertilizer and planting densities affect the growth and yield of a new corn variety called Nanxiao 969. They found that using a moderate amount of fertilizer and planting the corn at a high density resulted in the highest yield. Specifically, the best yield was achieved with a planting density of 67,500 plants per hectare and fertilizing with 321.30 kg/ha of nitrogen, 107.10 kg/ha of phosphorus, and 267.90 kg/ha of potassium. This information can help farmers grow Nanxiao 969 corn more efficiently to increase their harvest.
